Fall Fellowship Frolic

September 28th, 2007

Over the weekend of Fall Equinox, the Hawk was back on the road vending at the first annual Fall Fellowship Frolic in Milford, PA, a beautiful town nestled in the Pocono Mountains.

One of the local papers gave the event a nice writeup here and we even got a nod. Kudos to the organizers for great support and publicity.

We met lots of super nice people, including our fellow vendors, and had a great time. We’ll be back for more next year.

Dover Pagan Pride Day

August 28th, 2007

Dover Pagan Pride Day was a great time! This was our first year vending, and we will definitely be back for more next year.

Lots of good pagan folk and some friendly Dover locals mingled peacefully from 10-5 last Sunday after a lovely opening ritual performed by our impeccable hosts from the Assembly of the Sacred Wheel.

The weather cooperated, giving us a fairly comfortable day for late August, and even the much rumored protesters were scarce.

Opening concert on Saturday night featured the energetic Emerald Rose, a lively quartet of kilted fellows performing some awesome Celtic American folk rock.

The main festival took place Sunday on the Green, with a multitude of vendors,

face painting for the kids, and lots of good fellowship. One highlight was that Sterling and the posse from The Crystal Fox came by and hung around for most of the day (thanks for helping us haul boxes at the end, too!)

Our favorite Neo Medieval Gypsy Folk Rock group, Scott Helland and the Traveling Band of Gypsy Nomads gave another outstanding performance of their signature moody, seductively percussive sound.

Just in case you missed either of these shows, come by the Hawk and pick up a CD (or several!) and I am sure we’ll have them playing in the store.
